About Us

Ideal Systems builds mobile communication solutions for leading CCaaS platforms, including Genesys Cloud, Amazon Connect, and NICE CXone. Our solutions let enterprises extend their contact center capabilities to mobile devices, improving productivity and customer experience across industries like Healthcare, Financial Services, Life Sciences, and Automotive.

We're growing fast: ARR has grown 110%+ year over year for three consecutive years, and platform usage doubles annually. We're looking for a CTO who can ensure our engineering organization scales in step with that growth, keeping pace with product demand, platform complexity, and an expanding customer base.

The Role

You'll define and lead our technology vision, AI approach, architecture, and engineering strategy. Working closely with the CEO and commercial teams, you'll ensure our platform supports rapid product innovation, user growth, and enterprise-grade reliability.

You'll be joining a team already in motion: a Head of Engineering (covering DevOps, AWS, and delivery planning) and a Head of Product are in place, supported by an engineering team of 5 currently scaling to 8. Your role is to lead and accelerate.

Key Responsibilities

Technology and Architecture

  • Define long-term strategy for our (mobile) SaaS solutions
  • Build scalable, secure cloud infrastructure for enterprise customers
  • Lead decisions on mobile architectures, APIs, and CCaaS integrations

AI-First Engineering

  • Implement AI-driven workflows across the development lifecycle: coding, testing, QA, documentation, and DevOps
  • Continuously optimize engineering productivity with AI tooling
  • Foster a data-driven culture focused on speed, quality, and reliability

Engineering Leadership

  • Lead and grow an existing engineering team (currently 5, scaling to 8) alongside a Head of Engineering and Head of Product
  • Define team structures, development processes, and delivery frameworks
  • Drive best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, reliability, and security
  • Mentor engineers and cultivate a culture of innovation and ownership

Product and Commercial Alignment

  • Partner with product and sales teams to support go-to-market and integrations
  • Ensure technology enables rapid iteration and enterprise readiness

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years in software engineering, with significant leadership experience - grown through the engineering ranks
  • Hands-on executor who can still dive into the work when needed
  • Forward thinker who can map out where the team and technology need to be in 3-5 years
  • Proven experience scaling SaaS platforms
  • Preferably a strong background in mobile app development (most of our products are mobile-first)
  • Experience with cloud-native architectures and AWS
  • Comfortable leading in a fast-moving environment
