Job Description

We are seeking experienced Electromechanical Field Service Engineers to join a well-established organisation within the industrial machinery sector. This is a dynamic, field-based role ideally suited to engineers who thrive working independently and are comfortable travelling nationwide. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of specialist shredding and baling machinery across diverse environments, including corporate offices, government facilities, and secure sites. Your work will directly support operational continuity for our clients, requiring strong technical expertise, problem-solving ability, and a commitment to delivering exceptional service standards. Due to the sensitive nature of client sites, you must hold a valid British Passport and be willing to undergo CRB checks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend reactive breakdowns and carry out fault diagnosis and repair
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) according to schedules
  • Install and commission new machinery on client sites
  • Refurbish and upgrade existing equipment to specification
  • Work closely with the service team to manage schedules, parts inventory, and job progress
  • Ensure all service reports and administrative tasks are completed accurately and on time
  • Adhere to strict health and safety regulations, RAMS, and method statements
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates with proven electromechanical engineering experience, ideally in field service environments. You should be a self-motivated professional with strong technical foundations, excellent problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to manage your workload independently whilst collaborating effectively with the wider service team. Above all, you must be reliable, safety-conscious, and committed to maintaining professional standards across all client interactions.

Experience & Expertise Required:

  • Proven experience in electromechanical engineering, with field service experience preferred
  • Relevant electrical or mechanical qualification
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively
  • Full UK Driving Licence (clean)
  • Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away when required
  • Must be able to pass a CRB check
  • Must hold a valid British Passport due to site access requirements
