Job Description

We are seeking a multi-skilled Drainage Engineer to join our team based in Harlow, covering London and the South East. This is a full-time position where you will be at the forefront of delivering comprehensive drainage and plumbing solutions to our clients. Working Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with some weekend and evening work required, you will be available for 24-hour call-outs on a rota basis. Your role will encompass a diverse range of technical tasks, from high-pressure water jetting and CCTV surveys to drain lining, excavation repairs, and client estimating. You will combine technical expertise with problem-solving skills to diagnose complex drainage issues and implement effective solutions across residential and commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform multi-skilled drainage and plumbing work across London and the South East
  • Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clear and maintain drainage systems
  • Conduct OS19 or OS20 CCTV surveys and analyse findings using Wincan software
  • Execute drain lining and patch repair work to restore damaged pipework
  • Carry out excavation-based repair methods where required
  • Operate electro-mechanical equipment and Picote systems
  • Perform site visits, quotations, and estimating for clients
  • Maintain high standards of Health and Safety compliance on all projects
  • Work flexibly including weekend, evening, and emergency call-out shifts
  • Maintain detailed records and communicate progress with team and clients

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates who are positive-minded, multi-skilled operatives with a genuine passion for delivering quality drainage solutions. You must be over 25 years old (company insurance requirement) and possess a proactive, can-do attitude that drives you to solve complex problems efficiently. The ideal candidate will be a reliable team player with excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the flexibility to adapt to varying work schedules and emergency situations. You should hold a full clean UK driving licence (5 years minimum) and be willing to undergo a DBS check. Above all, we seek someone who takes pride in their work and approaches challenges with lateral thinking and resourcefulness.

Experience & Expertise Required:

  • Multi-skilled competency in drainage and plumbing (not all skills essential, but most required)
  • High-pressure water jetting experience
  • Electro-mechanical equipment operation and Picote system experience
  • OS19 or OS20 CCTV survey qualification and Wincan software proficiency
  • Drain lining and patch repair experience
  • Excavation repair method capability
  • Quotation, site visit, and estimating experience
  • Strong Health and Safety knowledge
  • Confined space entry, CITB, CSCS construction skills, PASMA, working at height, and jetting certifications (desirable)
  • Basic plumbing competency
  • Computer literacy in Excel, Word, and Outlook
